Do we really need a replacement?

So, Luke Young has completed his move to Villa in a deal which could rise from £5.5 million to £6 million depending on appearances.

At that price it is a great deal for Boro, a player they brought in for £2.5 million a year ago and someone who is in the latter stages of his career at 29 years old. Villa will be getting Mr. Consistant, a player some Boro fans feel should have been named our player of the season last year. He will be a great leader and will certainly help Villa to improve on last years league position.

I the past 24 hours, the rumours of a replacement have been coming thick and fast with Mauritz Volz, Steve Finnan and Justin Hoyte the main names the press have come up with. However, with Tony McMahon now fit and ready for the season it should be him that is given the oppotunity to prove his worth and stake a claim for the permanent right back position. Anyone who does come in should have to play second fiddle and wait for his chance should McMahon not take advantage of the opportunity.

So, what do you think? Who would be the ideal replacement.........if of course you think we need a replacement?
