Digard joined Boro in a protracted £4million switch from Paris St Germain under former boss Gareth Southgate in July 2008, but injuries have limited him to just 34 appearances.
Nice confirmed that Digard has moved to the Nice Stade Municipal du Ray on a six-month loan deal with the French club retaining the option to buy the 23-year-old at the end of the season.
