Coventry v Boro: Team news

Last updated : 27 January 2006 By Reggie Holdsworth

Gaizka Mendieta returns to the squad after missing the Wigan game, while Chris Riggott, Matthew Bates and Mark Viduka have all recovered from knocks after being withdrawn during the Wigan.

Tony McMahon could also figure after coming through a Reserve game in mid-week with no adverse effects

Overall the injury list is improving with only Malcolm Christie (leg), George Boateng (ankle) and Franck Queudrue (knee) the only long term injuries.

James Morrison is out with a hip injury, but could be available for the trip to the Stadium of Shite, while Brad Jones is a doubt after picking up a knock in Spain.

The latter gives Steve McClaren the perfect opportunity to reinstate Mark Schwarzer without creating further unrest in the camp.

Coventry have a few problems, particularly in midfield, with Dennis Wise suspended, Stephen Hughes (Achilles) and Isaac Osbourne (knee) definitely out and Claus Jorgensen (thigh) struggling.

In defence Robert Page may return but will have to wear a protective mask over his fractured cheekbone.
