Come on Boro, pay up or lose out

Forlan's club Independiente want the £6.5m fee in one lump sum but Boro want to pay in instalments, would you believe 36 in total, although that was refined to just 3 in the end.

Boro were keen to push the deal through quickly in an attempt to beat off competition from Man. Unuted and Lazio. It would now appear that Man. United could snatch the Uruguayan from under Boro's noses.

Unconfirmed reports have stated that Forlan's representatives are in Manchester discussing a possible transfer.

There is too much interference from the 'men in suits' at the club to allow a straight forward transfer to go through. When will Boro learn, they want the player, he wants to come here, terms have been agreed, so pay the money!

We saw it with Dean Windass at the end of last season and I'm convinced Juninho would be a Boro player now if those 'men in suits' had not gone for a cut price deal.

You could write a book about all the cock-ups that Boro have been involved with, just in recent years we've had Emerson (going AWOL), Juninho (wouldn't pay the agreed fee), Ziege (illegal approach), Branca (compensation claim) Gillespie (failed medical), McCarthy (did't qualify for work permit), Windass (premier league not happy over terms), need I go on.

We all want world class players at the club, so come on Boro get it sorted.
