The Welsh international will have a medical before sitting down to agree terms with the London club.

Boro boss Steve McClaren has already pencilled in a replacement No. 2 goalkeeper and must act fast to beat the transfer dadline which is only three weeks away.

Third choice keeper Brad Jones was loaned out to Rotherham last week on a two month so it only leaves Boro with just Sam Russell as recognised back-up to Mark Schwarzer.

Meanwhile there is no news on the reported interest from Boro on Fulham's Sean Davies. The U21 international has requested a move but Fulham are reluctant to let him leave before a replacement is found. Boro face competition from Everton for his signature.
