Boyd worry for Strachan

Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan is keeping his fingers crossed after summer signing Kris Boyd underwent a scan on an injured foot. The 26-year-old Scotland international limped off less than half an hour into the 3-0 friendly victory over Bray Wanderers in Ireland, although Strachan is confident there will be no lasting damage. He told the club's official website: "It's just a kick - a sore one though." Boyd's replacement Lee Miller was on the scoresheet along with Nicky Bailey and Leroy Lita. Boro will now head back to Teesside before setting off on the next phase of their pre-season campaign in Germany.
