Boss Keen To Keep O'Neil

The Boro midfielder, who is recovering from injury and therefore yet to begin pre-season training, has been rumoured to want to leave Boro this summer but Southgate has revealed that he intends to hold talks with the player over the close-season.

"We're going to sit down and see how he feels about everything. He's someone we don't want to sell," Southgate told the club's official website.

"In the first half of last season he was an outstanding player for us."
