Gareth Southgate has said that he was happy at taking a point from the away game against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday evening.
The Boro boss was pleased with the response from his players after the 5-0 home drubbing by Chelsea last weekend and they could easily have taken all three points from the match at Ewood Park but for a last minute equaliser from the hosts."It was a good point, a good response. We have had a goal disallowed that was onside and scored a very good goal that might have won us the game," Southgate said after the 1-1 draw against Paul Ince's side.
"We came into this in a week when we have been hammered from all quarters.
"We have given a performance that had character and resilience.
"We have conceded a late goal, which is a disappointment. When you are that close to winning it hurts but I thought it was a healthy away display.
"We were solid and difficult to break down.
"The players are down because they got that close to three points but a point after the week we've had was a very good response."
