Boro v Graz: The big freeze

Last updated : 21 February 2005 By Reggie Holdsworth
With temperatures not likely to rise much above freezing the next couple of days Boro will take every effort to make sure the game goes ahead.

The inflatable cover was errected over the pitch on Saturday, which protected the pitch from the heavy snow that fell on Saturday night. However, the club are now appealling for volunteers to remove the snow from the cover, so that it can be inflated again.

If you can help call the club's Operations Department on 01643 877709.

As with previous games that have been called off at the Riverside, the pitch has been perfectly playable, the problem has been the icy conditions in and around the stadium, hopefully this will also be in hand.

How ironic it would be if the game was postponed, having played the first leg without a hitch in Graz last week.
