A morning inspection by match referee Eduardo Gonzalez was enough to satisfy the Spanish official that the match should go ahead. He was accompanied by a UEFA delegate and representitives from both clubs.

The police and local authority inspected the stadium approaches yesterday and gave their approval for the game to go ahead barring any extreme weather conditions today.
