Reports suggest that Boro have offered City £7m for Sylvain Distin and Joey Barton. Both players have been stalling over new contracts and Boro's offer will test the resolve of City chairman John Wardle.
If Boro manage to pull off the double transfer it may finally put to bed the Robert Huth transfer. The German is still hopeful that he can prove his fitness and make the move north, after Boro vetoed the transfer following his medical last week.
