Boro Suffer Defeat in Germany

Boro fielded a decent looking side for the friendly in the northern Germany, with Michael Reiziger making his debut and Bolo Zenden also in the starting line-up.

The home side dominated the first half in a match to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their Baltic Sea Stadium, so it was a surprise that they turned round at 0-0.

Debutant Reiziger picked up a worrying injury during the first half and was replaced by Tony McMahon.

The German's took the lead early in the second half through Madsen and doubled their lead when Rydlewicz converted a debatable penalty with 15 minutes remaining.

Boro responded when Joseph Desire Job pulled one back with 5 minutes to go, but the game was wrapped up at the death when Meggle who made the final score 3-1 to the German's.
