Boro star named in PFA nominations

The Boro youngster started the season on the bench but is now an integral part of the team. His achievements have also been recognised at U-21 level and earned him his first cap for the senior side.

Stewy faces tough competition from Tottenham's Jermain Defoe, Chelsea's Arjen Robben, Man United's Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney plus Manchester City's Shaun Wright-Phillips.

The senior award will be contested by Chelsea's Peter Cech, Frank Lampard and John Terry, Crystal Palace's Andy Johnson, Arsenal's Thierry Henry and Liverpool's Steven Gerrard.

The winners will be announced at the PFA awards dinner in London on Sunday 24th April.
