Boro reserves suffer first defeat

Ugo Ehiogu used the game to play his first competitive match since being injured against Birmingham in September. Him apart Boro fielded a young and inexperienced side.

Boro went behind eraly on to a Bradley Wright-Phillips (brother of Shaun) goal but equalised with half an hour gone through Danny Graham. City regained the lead within five minutes through Christian Negouai and led 2-1 at the break.

The second half was a tense affair with few chances but the decisive goal was scored by Wright-Phillips with just ten minutes left to give City a 3-1 victory.
