Boro looking to head upwards

Robert Huth is confident that the Boro can clinch a top-half finish if they can maintain their hunger and determination.

Boro are currently 13th in the Premiership table with six games of the season remaining, starting with this weekend's Riverside clash against Aston Villa.

Huth has endured an injury-ravaged first season with the club following his move from Chelsea, but made his first Premiership start since December in last weekend's 4-1 demolition of rock-bottom Watford.

"I enjoyed the game against Watford and it was a good win," the 22-year-old Germany international told the Evening Gazette. "Hopefully we can build on that performance.

"If we get another win now then we could be in the top half, so anything is possible. The gaffer is keeping us in shape to do well. It's in everybody's interest to move up the table.

"It will help the club financially and mentally it will be great for the players. So we have to do everything we can to beat Aston Villa.

"I don't agree with anybody who says it has been a disappointing season. We had new players coming in and a new manager.

"Sometimes it's not easy when you have new players fitting in. We have had some good results and some bad results but I think we should definitely look upwards."
