Gary Pallister: “Gordon needs a little bit of time to turn things his way.
“He’s had two defeats but Boro deserved something from the game on both occasions.
“You look at the performances and they haven’t been bad.
“The problem is plain for everybody to see and that is that the team doesn’t score enough goals.
“When you are creating chances and not taking them, it affects the whole team.
“You look back at players like Viduka and Yakubu and Boro have never replaced them.
“It’s summed up by the fact that Adam Johnson is the top scorer.
“He should really be seen as the creator for the rest of the lads up front, but he has had to take on a lot of responsibility.”
