Boro Defender Says: 'This Season Hasn't Been The Best'!

David Wheater: "The threat of relegation is horrible. You don't want to be playing in the Championship with anyone — but especially not with the team you support.

"Living around here, you have family and friends that are talking to you about football all the time — and leave you in no doubt about what all of this means.

"Last season, things were going well and everyone in the area was happy. This season hasn't been the best. It's been horrible, really.

"This weekend might not be the be-all and end-all. The gap is three points at the moment and there'll still be three games left. Those games will probably be easier games than this one coming up.

"But we're certainly not writing this off just because it's Manchester United. We're going to be confident and concentrate on our game."
