Boksic can't help Croatia

Boksic shook off a number of niggling injuries that have kept him out for much of the season, but his presence did not help a poor Croatia side who lost by a single goal.

Croatia were reduced to ten men after an hour when Boris Zivkovic was dismissed for a professional foul, Cuauhtemoc Blanco converted the penalty to make Mexico favourites to qualify behind Italy in Group G.

Meanwhile ex-Boro favourite Jununho was in tremendous form for Brazil who came from behind to beat Turkey 2-1, the winner coming with just 5 minutes to play. Turkey finished the game with just nine players.
