Blomqvist soon to be a Boro boy

The 28 year old winger has been on trial with the club for the past month, and it looks as if he has impressed McClaren enough to be offered a contract. The deal had been on hold as Blomqvist had suffered an injury in a pre-season friendly but he has now returned to full training.

The Boro boss said: "He is back in full training again and we are looking to sit down with him and see if we can agree a deal. It's really just a formality. I don't need to see any more of him." This would make Jesper Boro's 6th signing of the summer and it could be 7 later this month, with Aussie defender Tony Vidmar still training with the club.
