Bartholomew Ogbeche signs for Middlesbrough

The 27-year-old forward impressed manager Tony Mowbray during a trial period, scoring twice in a behind-closed-doors game against Blackburn.

Ogbeche represented his country at the 2002 World Cup and has played for PSG, Alaves, Real Valladolid, Cadiz as well as Al Jazira in the United Aran Emirates.

He has been on the lookout for a new club since leaving Greek side Kavala in the summer.

Mowbray said: 'We haven't signed Lionel Messi but we've signed a footballer who has got a few assets.'
