Alli, 19, has netted 14 goals including a hat-trick against Crewe - form which earned him a move to Tottenham in January before being loaned back to the League One Dons for the rest of the campaign.
The accolade has in the past been won by the likes of Gareth Bale, Wilfried Zaha and Nathaniel Clyne
The winner will be announced on Sunday at the 10th annual Football League Awards
