Are We Braced For Number 11? Lamb Looks To Future!

It's Stamford Bridge next ... but Lamb won't be jumping the gun if the shit hits the fan and the run goes to eleven.

You don't need me to tell you ... Boro are in the relegation zone, albeit on goal difference ... and that does have a laxative effect.

We went to Old Trafford and put up a memorable performance but came away with nothing, and many would be happy to bore the arse out of 40,000-plus and grad a point.

Tension is mounting on Teesside but Lamb insists Southgate is the man to mastermind a survival bid.

After all, what is the alternative? Bring in another manager and he would have the same squad; no money; and less time to suss out his players.

And let's not forget Southgate would be due compensation, although I'm sure it would not be as much as Newcastle payed Sam Allardyce and his back-up crew ... £4.6m.

Keith Lamb: "Gareth will get the time to put it right.

"We're not panicking and chairman Steve Gibson and I remain confident Gareth is the right man to do it.

"The harder it gets the more determined he is to succeed. He's a fighter and a winner and that's what we need."
