Another set back for Ehiogu

Ugo Ehiogu returned last night to first team action after a month off injured but his contribution was short lived and he left Goodison Park on crutches.

The defender only lasted 45 minutes of Boro’s 1-0 win over Everton in the third round of the Carling Cup before jarring his knee when landing from a header.

This was only his first game back after recovering from a groin injury and is now looking to miss the home game against Manchester United on Saturday.

Despite losing Ehiogu at half time the team were able to hang onto their 1-0 lead provided by Jimmy Floyd Hasselbanik in the 38th minute and move on to the next round.
