A Story from the Ticket Office

Tickets for the fifth round FA Cup game against Blackburn went on general release today. Of the queue I was in nearly everyone failed to see why the club were charging more for non season ticket holders than they were for season ticket holders. Is this legal? I was buying two tickets at £16.50 for the North Stand which had been available up until Saturday to season ticket holders for £15.00. I am a season ticket holder but wanted a change of seat anyway so I wasn’t really bothered, but most other people were unhappy at the difference in price. I have to say I agree with them.

I agree with giving the season ticket holders priority in getting cup tickets but increasing the price for non season ticket holders is sending out the wrong message.

The bloke in front of me came up with a novel idea to beat the price increases (he said that hundreds of people are doing it at every home game).....

Simply buy tickets for the North or South Stands for £16.50 and then go and sit in the East Stand Upper once the game is a couple of minutes old, bingo a saving of £6 a ticket!!
