A big week ahead

First up are Basel in the UEFA Cup quarter final second leg (Thursday 6th). Boro have it all to do after losing 2-0 in Switzerland last week but it's not over yet.

An early goal against the Swiss champions should get the crowd right behind Boro and who knows what will happen after that. All we ask is that they give it their best shot.

Then the last big game of the season, as far as the league is concerned, Newcastle at the Riverside (Sunday 9th). At stake North East pride, and a victory for Boro against the Geordies would see us leapfrog our rivals in the table and hopefully maintain our 'cock o' the north' title for another season.

Last up is the FA Cup quarter final replay against Charlton (Wednesday 12th), Probably our best route back to Europe, victory would see us just 90 minutes away from the cup final and definite qualification for the UEFA Cup.

West Ham would stand in our way of another date in Cardiff, with the semi-final due to take place on Sunday 23rd April at Villa Park.

A splendid week ahead, one that promises to be the start of even greater things to come, or one that could end the season early in bitter disappointment.

COME ON BORO!
