Middlesbrough vs Tottenham: TV channel, live stream, team news & prediction - FA Cup

Tottenham continue their FA Cup journey in the midst of a mixed run of form when they travel to Middlesbrough on Tuesday night.

The two sides met in the same competition back in 2020, with the tie needing a replay after their first game was drawn 1-1. Spurs eventually went through back in north London, thanks to goals from Giovani Lo Celso and Erik Lamela, though George Saville's late strike made things nervy.

Boro have been excellent since Chris Wilder took over this season and are making a push for the playoffs, though they have lost two of their last three games.

Spurs put the 1-0 defeat at Burnley behind them on Saturday with a 4-0 thumping of Leeds, ably helped by some shocking defending from their hosts as Matt Doherty, Dejan Kulusevski, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min all netted.

Middlesbrough team news

Matt Crooks has served a suspension and should return in central midfield, so defender Marc Bola is their only absentee.

Former Premier League players Paddy McNair and Jonny Howson are expected to feature in the starting XI, while Arsenal loanee Leon Balogun should play up front.

Tottenham team news

Lucas Moura was absent for Spurs' win at Leeds and could be missing again. While Kulusevski played and scored, he could be given a rest with Steven Bergwijn preferred instead.

Midfielders Oliver Skipp and Rodrigo Bentancur are injured, so Harry Winks should continue alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the middle.

There may also be changes from Antonio Conte at wing back and in defence, with the likes of Sergio Reguilon, Emerson Royal and Davinson Sanchez eager for starts.

Middlesbrough vs Tottenham prediction

Boro are up to eighth in the Championship and eyeing promotion, though a disappointing 3-2 defeat to Barnsley on Saturday has halted their momentum somewhat.

Changes are expected from Tottenham and that could disrupt the form they showed at Leeds. Some of the fringe players could give Boro hope of a positive result, but Spurs will still be favourites.

Prediction: Middlesbrough 1-2 Tottenham
